How much should I pay for a CPAP?

Q: How much does a cpap machine cost?

A: CPAP machines range in price from about $425.00 to more than $3000.00, depending on functionality. The most common type of CPAP is one that automatically adjusts air flow during inhalation and exhalation. The auto CPAP (APAP) models, such as the Luna G3/G3X and the Resmed Airsense 10/11, are typically priced between $739.00 (G3) and $1004.00 (Air11).

Factors affecting price:

Functionality: pap devices differ in function from a simple cpap, which just blows are at one set rate, to ASV (adaptive-servoventilation), which analyzes breathing and makes fine adjustments with each breath. The more complex a machine, the more expensive it will be.

MAP (Minimum Advertised Price): Most manufacturers have a minimum advertised price that retailers must abide by. Many retailers abide by this price, but very low prices that differ from the majority of prices listed online are a violation of the MAP agreement.

Pricing for common APAP devices:

·       React Health Luna G3X: $873.00

·       React Health Luna G3: $754.00

·       Resmed Airsense 11: $1004.00

·       Resmed Airsense 10: $960.00

The most common type of CPAP device on the market is the APAP, which changes flow volume when it senses the beginning of inhalation or exhalation. The APAP devices have a price range of about $750.00 to just over $1000.00. A unit priced significantly below this price range is likely in violation of the MAP policy of the manufacturer. Such violations can lead a retailer to lose their sales contract, which could affect customer service for buyers.

Lower-priced units may also be used/refurbished. It is important to confirm whether a unit is new or used and to verify the warranty duration before making a purchase.
